Pros
Bought this for our ps4. Va très bien encore. I deffinetely recommend it for gamers but it is also excellent if you want to storr videos, photos, etc.
Cons
Out of 5, 4 are currently broken. Seems to match the other failures that others have described in this thread. Despite disk utility repair fixes on mac osx, the disk remains geriatric.
Those never made if after one year. Very disappointing and an expensive wasted purchase. Avoiding this company at all coast.
Seagate indicates it's expired. Then they kick you to the curb. Amazon should speak to the products they distribute and ensure a replacement.

Works great , good design and very durable
This is a quality product that i would buy again or recommend to my friends
Not bad transferring speed is not bad holds a lot of videos and pictures and documents
Newer drives are not recognized by my blu ray players (i have 2).

However, they were so helpful and allowed me to mail my hard drive back to them free of cost for data extraction.
Competitiveness
Given that i purchased this hard drive over 6 years ago, i didn't expect seagate to be able to help me.
I purchased 2 of these and now have 3 of the same model drive.
I would buy it again, but cannot say the same for the current generation in case it is considerably different.

I originally ordered this hard drive in august of 2016 because my computer was way too full with photos and videos

I offloaded a bunch of the pics and vids to my external hard drive

About 5 years later i went to plug in the hard drive to access the data and the drive would no longer show up on my or any other computer
