Pros

Installation and setup are easy enough even for a beginner. I have 3 other hard drives in my nas that are over 15 years and still going strong. Seagate also specs and warrants the drive for a normal (tlc flash-like) amount of endurance (0.

Exceptional speeds and relatively silent operation. Easy to install and speeds are fast.

Mb/s [ 19718. Mb/s] merci amazone (. Merci. Amazone. Com) crystal diskmark 8. Is now available. It has a maximum speed of 8,000 mb/s.

Cons

Harddrive is fine if active but will buzz with annoying sound if idle. Nas systems are particularly vulnerable to this as most western harddrives are now using smr. Seagate is not a reliable supplier of hard drives for the nas datum market.

Completely unacceptable. No proper packaging. Waiting for pickup. Only real cost-savings go towards lining the manufacturers pockets.

Shipping

It comes in a box and is secure enough so it doesn't break during shipping.

It's not as fast as i want it, but not bad.

Packaging/appearance

I thought the packaging looked decent for the hdd, but after a week my first hdd failed.

I would probably buy another hdd again if the packaging is good.

Competitiveness

Used as a 2tb backup drive in my hp envy desktop.

I replaced a 2tb drive with this 4tb seeing as the price difference between the 2 and the 4 is very minimal.

Replaced by 2001 2tb hd that was clunking and taking longer and longer to retrieve files.

Physically, the newer 4tb drive is almost half the thickness of my older 2tb, but fits into the hard drive slot the same.
