Only the top-end motherboards have the new serial ata3 6 gig interface. Synology enclosure is much cooler to the touch than my dlink network drive enclosure.

Really a nice bulletproof drive. Amazon has them for under $5 bucks. The frustration free package is fantastic.

It runs also very quietly, which is surprising considering it's immense speed & capacity. The drive is remarkably quiet.

An old dell optiplex tower repurposed as a windows home server. Tb drives on xp is finally possible with seagate! Do the setup while connected via fw first. It's now in my whs2011 server.

I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to upgrade their time capsule instead of spending $499 for a new one from apple

I paid 169 a piece in january 2011 and now i want to buy 2 more and cant find a price close to that.

99 a few months ago and now the price has skyrocketed!

Arrived within expected time, well packaged, and worked quite well.

The drive came very fast and in perfect condition in a clam shell style case.

I shipped it to seagate and they shipped me a new one.

There was a delay/possible mix-up in delivery but when i notified the seller it was cleared up right away.

It will come in regular box, with paper, and inside a static bag with a none manufacturer label.

The only thing i want you to be aware is to not expect the item to come in the original manufacturer's packaging.

If you need this sized hard drive then by all means consider seagate.

I do own around 40 seagate 1 tb drives and at least 20 seagate 2 tb drives.
