So after extensive research and with a bit of nail biting and angst i bought 3 of the seagate exos x12 drives to put in the latest nas server i was building for a client

So one could say that i took an educated guess with fingers crossed that seagate would be less inclined to cut corners on these enterprise tier drives as it would end up costing seagate dearly in lost revenue if they screwed their enterprise customers

I would say yes but only because this is an enterprise tier hard drive and that should not be misconstrued as an endorsement of seagate as a whole as i cant speak to the reliability of their other lines of hdds they sell and my default opinion of seagate in general is that i still have serious reservations recommending them solely based on seagates history of selling shoddy quality drives

Consprice took forever for people to release gt 4tb pmr drives at a reasonable pricethese work great in a supermicro 45 bay 4u enclosure

Considering the drive will be an archive im not concerned really as fragmentation shouldnt be an issue
