Pros

The exos x16 is the one to go for if you want to pack your nas or server with storage goodness. Since i just use it to backup and i use 4 ssds for other tasks, it is a good backup solution before ssds get really gigantic and cheap to fully replace hdd... Read More

Price is exceptionally reasonable at just over two hundred bucks. The 5 year warranty is the best thing about this product. Replacement takes one click of a button.

No issues with preclear or prereboot. Spin-up is a bit noisy but after that it is fine. Not a problem for me because i run my server in a utility closet.

Cons

Tried three different psus in 2 different motherboards and 3 different sata 3. Tb of bad sectors. Tried it in a second nas, same result.

Very disappointed in the seller and amazon. Will be returning it asap. Trying to reach platinum micro, itself, got a mailbox not available error.

The only wd drives i've had die on me in the last 20 years are drives that i've dropped out of carelessness. Consistently horrific. No bubble wrap.

It easily loaded into my qnap jbod; i'm frequently seeing speeds averaging ~220 mb/sec; and it runs cool.

Running in a older synology ds415+ with two 8tb ironwolfs in the same volume.
