Pros

Seagate hard drive works great. Sequential reads/writes and 700ish iops. Runs well on ubuntu 20.

The exos x16 is the one to go for. These are helium-filled, 9 platters, and have none of the drive bay limitations enforced on the ironwolf pro and ironwolf models. They are cheaper per terabyte than ironwolf drives. Perfect for your nas implementatio... Read More

No problems or reportable errors after 1. The drives are brand new, still factory sealed, and we’re packaged well.

Msi desktop is whisper quiet. Larger drives - even across manufacturers - seem to perhaps have the servos hard-mounted to the frames, because i hear some thudding as the heads move across tracks. The only mild complaint is that it's a tad bit noisy.

Cons

Received cyclic redundancy error. Seagate's warranty website is non functional. I prefer to wait than risking failure in the future.

Bought this 6/24/22 but could not install until today, 9/2/22. Was recognized by disk management in windows 10 but would notinitialize. Other than the lack of valid warranty, the x16/x14 are on par, which is disappoint.
