Pros
Synctoy is the perfect companion for this drive. The backup speed is wonderful. The drive comes pre-formatted with the usb 3.
Cons
Seagate is no help and the usb cable is non-standard. Power suppy or adaptor are known to go bad. I have a terabyte of files saved and no way to access them because seagate has to use a special dock.
This is the third one that has failed. Epic failure, another $150 down the drain/paid to seagate. This one lasted about 7 months and died.

Product works as advertised - i haven't had any difficulties whatsoever with it.
No problem with the hardware, and the delivery was quick.
Packaging/appearance
Also some packaging has new usb 3.
0 label on the box underneath the cellophane.
In the case of the best buy packaging, they slapped a yellow usb 3.
Competitiveness
The drives perform faster than internal 3tb drives from most the other manufacturers, for less money.
0, i'm not getting anywhere near 5gbps (only 87mbps) as usb 3.
Tried the same 6gb transferred, this time from seagate to seagate thru the buffalo card.
3mbps when transferring a 40gb file from my storage dedicated 1tb sata 7200rpm.

Great look to the it but when its in use it is kinda noisy and vibrates on the desk

The drive doesnt spin upon touch after the 5 hour mark so maybe seagate fixed it in their latest update
