The product works as described and more. After doing my research and looking at all technical specification it was delivered on time. The lesson i took is, before complaining to the product's quality, check the system's configuration.

Once you do the first backup (looooong), this is almost unnoticeable in the background. It updates the copy is has of my files when i make changes to them so i always have the latest version. Additional features:pc auto back-up.

Cons

It's as bad as advertised. Spotty realibility. Seagate's advertisements are inaccurate.

Forced quit and retried 3 times. I wish this could be billable time back to seagate. However, inasmuch as i have bought quite a few things from seagate, i think this is the worst of them.

It stalled after 150gb and appeared to significantly transfer very 100mb/10 minutes. Its slow with copying and reading. The amount of *, clutter, and hassle it comes with combined with the slow read makes me wish i had bought another brand.

Installation is not straightforward. Seagate should have told potential buyers of the issues. Is it safe to disable password protection in order to be able to use this disk drive?
