The drive operates just as expected if not a bit slower than the old one. Solid state drives are faster, but they also will cost you more money. Ironwolf hard drives are 5200 rpm.

This is the 10th 4tb drive i have gotten from amazon. These drives are available at the fulfillment center in shakopee mn. This drive runs somewhat hotter (38°c/100°f) than the 4tb drives (31 °c/88°f), currently in the nas.

Cons

Quality

Compatible with my nas drive very happy with the product.

I chose the 4tb because of the below $100 dollar price point and because it fits my storage needs.

I feel it would be unfair to not say something since it was only serendipity that caused me to return the product.

I expect it to runfor at least 2 years at which time i will replace it as i always do with the main hard drive.

Price

The price was pretty high ($500), but i needed the capacity at the time, so i bought it.

Looking at the prices for a 4tb ssd, i decided to go with a much cheaper hdd.

At this time, i recommend this hard drive for anyone who needs 4tb ofdisk storage.

I bought 2 of these to put in a synology nas.

Using as a backup drive in a usb3 cradle.
