Before purchasing i kept it in my cart for a while and the price changed wildly over 2 months.

The price is nice so it definitely cost the price paid.

Competitiveness

I intend to buy more of these and use them with a sabrent external hdddrive adapter.

I have four of these in a synology 923+ in shr and they work great.

I have five of these: four in a qnap nas in a raid 5 array; one in an external usb housing.

The 4tb version are orders of magnitude quieter.
