Local time fri jul 19 09:37:01 2024 utc smart support available - device has smart capability. Auto offline data enabled. Data collection (0x82) offline data collection activity was completed without error.

Cons

This drive gets very hot and then it fails. Could not use as backup drive. Chkdsk /f /r /x would not complete, too many bad sectors.

Quality

Everything is good, no bad sectors, blocks nothings and pretty quiet for mechanical hard drive.

After some fairly hefty diagnostics, its been running great.

Offline data collectioncapabilities: (0x7b) smart execute offline immediate.

Self-test execution status: ( 0) the previous self-test routine completed without error or no self-test has ever been run.

Price

I needed an emergency drive to temporarily replace a dead one, i grabbed one of these as it had the best price.

I had a handful of hard drives fail and luckily this was available for a great price to back up all my data.

Take a chance if you can afford the downtime of replacing these should they fail, i unfortunately do not at this time.

It’s also a big plus that price was less than half of new drives.

Packaging/appearance

Packaging & labels were the same as new product.

Still soon to say, but the refurbished version were really well packed and very well revisited so i trust the process of amazon.

Competitiveness

For price per tb, this drive compares favorably to used server drives, while being an essentially new drive.

Seagate is one of the best drive makers available right now.
