Drive Failure Rate

Customers have mixed opinions on the drive failure rate of Seagate IronWolf Pro 10TB Enterprise NAS Internal HDD Hard Drives, with some reporting issues within a year while others have used them for several years without problems. Some customers mentioned that the drives are louder than normal but appreciated their fast read/write speeds and large capacity for RAID set-up. However, a significant number of customers reported drive failures and were disappointed with Seagate's handling of returns.

Quality

Working great so far we shall see how they hold up.

I mostly use it to store old project files and footage so this works extremely well for me

After 37 months, one of the drives started showing bad sectors, and two months later the second one is showing errors.

Glad i had these in raid 6 so no data was lost, but two failures after 28,000 hours is not cool.

They are using higher density platters new 4 heads and 2 platters vs 6 heads and 3 platters old smaller footprint 20

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Due to higher density platter and smaller footprint the heat is dissipated less effectively therefore temperatures are noticeably higher about 23c degrees
