Pros
These platter drives are much faster than my old wd green drives. The 20tb capacity is great and i was able to purchase this one at a very fair price. These are 7200rpm and the wd ones were 5400rpm, plus these have more cache.
Cons
Not worth the month not with the storage. Seagate cmr nas drives are very low reliability. Re-ordered but went with two refurbished 20 tb ironwolf c mr nas drives.
Seagate's rma process has been frustratingly slow, taking at least a month to see any updates. Installed the drive in server and bios did not recognize it.
Just another big disappointment from wd. They do not have the 5-second click that i read wd black drives have. These are supposed to be seagates top nas cmr drives.

I've gone through three 8 tb iron wolf hdds, and they last for many years, very heavy rebuild after rebuild after rebuild.
These are extreme durable drives and amazon put this on my doorstep within 3 hours of my order.
Those 8 tb are open to air, and the 16 tb are helium sealed, which is less friction and cooler.
I have read that when all hdds are 14 tb, i can expand the capacity of my raid 5, which is one of those, i will believe it when i see it.

I have a nas populated with 8 tbs and am replacing with 14 tbs in a raid 5
