Pros & Cons
Pros
The 7200 rpm spindle speed and 256mb cache give the 8tb ironwolf a nice performance boost compared to lower capacity models. Preclearing a 16tb disk takes about 60 hours but will fully test the disk to make sure it's healthy.
Good specs as well as excellent performance in actual use. No problems and fast (and slightly cheaper than wd) the drives are pretty good, speedy and perform well.
If you're looking to upgrade your nas without compromises, the ironwolf line deserves serious consideration. Seagate makes it easy. For me its a big deal when planning cooling solution.
Cons
Seagate says they require 10 days after delivery before they will update your case status. They then say they never received the drive (aka, seagate lost it), and tell me to contact usps to get a tracer. There is no recourse i can follow it seems so t... Read More
Of them showed up when plugged in. Try mbr and gpt initialization, no luck. Try run diskpart>, no success.

Quality
Whether in an on/off environment or 24x7, they give a solid three years of great performance and reliability.
These are working perfectly & seem faster than pretty much any traditional (mechanical) hard drives i've ever had.

My biggest concern with drives this big is if (or when) the drive fails you have the potential to lose a lot of data.
Price
The 20tb capacity is great and i was able to purchase this one at a very fair price.
The ironwolf drives are great for the money.
Ps: i was going to buy ssd's, but with the crazy price increases since the first of the year, i'll stick with hdd's.
For price and quality it’s not terrible for the money but i wish they lasted longer.
Shipping
Ordered two drives, they came rapidly and in good shape.
The 24tb hard drives arrived promptly, were packaged appropriately, and appear to be working properly in the synology nas system.
This arrived fast, and fit the bill.

Packaging/appearance
My two drives arrived in perfect condition, and when checked out had no errors or bad sectors etc at all.
24 tb st24000nt002drive was properly packaged by quickdeal but it failed after 2 months.
Competitiveness
I used to think seagate drives were less reliable than western digital but with all the negative reviews for wd and the positiv... Read More
Seagate documentation says these shouldn't go above 60c, so i've bumped the critical temp threshold to 60c and the warning to 55c.
