Pros & Cons
Pros
Purchased two seagate ironwolf pro 6tb drives to complete my synology 8-bay nas. I think it was like 5. Years ago that i purchased my first nas.
Cons
Bought a seagate ironwolf pro st6000ne000 6 tb hard drive from this seller. Never trust seagate anymore.
Highlights
Quality
Purchased two seagate ironwolf pro 6tb drives to complete my synology 8-bay nas.
I’m using aomei backup software (also bought from amazon) which has an excellent data compression option, so 6tb is enough.
So i inserted four tiny, very thin pieces of silicon rubber sheet into each side of the gap – and the noise stopped.
I could hear the loud hum from the drive two doors down the corridor from my office, and couldn’t tolerate it in the same room.
Price
Have been running with 6 drives with the intention of getting the last two as hot swap drives when the price was right.
Shipping
They also arrived much quicker than expected since i was not in a rush.
Competitiveness
This was my preferred choice because it uses cmr technology and is intended for the enterprise environment.
I can now be alongside the nas and remain more or less sane!
