Pros

Easy to use, plug and play. I can just drag and drop files onto it without having to run backup software that takes an eternity. For macs and using seagate as external backup drive with time machine.

They are so small and used is as great as new as long as the seller is respectable. It doesn't overheat, is dead silent, and is a quality product made by seagate. Thumbs up for sure.

The case has a small blue led light that lets you know it is powered.

Cons

The 1tb capacity is as advertised, but the access speed is not. Write speed is carefully avoided in its description. Not super worthy of saying no.

Have 4 month using it , and is fast for edit on it.

While it was smaller than i thought it would be, it is also very fast when connected directly to the usb-c port on my laptop.

If you want fast, this isn’t the drive for you.

Competitiveness

A little thicker than the 1 and 2tb versions, so it doesn't slide into a pocket as easily.

0 usb non-powered from 1tb up to 4tb.

Looked at thunderbolt 3 connections and nvme etc but the extra cost for this did not balance the added value for me.

I stayed with a 500gb model because my laptop will not need anything larger, it is a good fit for my needs.
