The hub has a usb-c port it won’t connect to a host using that interface. Must have been sent a faulty drive. Seems to have overheating issues and issues with amd's chipset.

Although the package had obviously been opened before the hd was in pristine condition although obviously reformatted such that the registration file was not available so as yet i have been unable to register the purchase with seagate

Listed as part of the box contents but not included so it was necessary to purchase a suitable cable as it wasnt worth returning it for this alone

These came formatted as exfat which caused a problem as i leave the drives attached and this prevented my somewhat ageing gigabyte z77 based pc from booting even with the boot from usb option disabled in bios

I transferred files in chunks of about 500gb and with a little help with cooling provided by a couple of small usb fans the drive temperatures never exceeded 44 deg c

However this caught my eye as you can set it up to do encrypted backup of whatever you want

This allows you to leave it in plain sight as possession of the disc won’t get at the content
