The seagate storage device offers great storage especially for the price but the dashboard software refuses to load onto my desktop

It can work as a plex server but dont expect it can decode hd videos i cant play 720p anime smoothlyboth mkv and mp4

Works great with kodi in a pc by samba network protocol or in a xbox one by ftp network protocol xbox one doesnt support samba network protocol but works great using ftp protocol

It has an integrated plex server software which works too but only in direct play mode because the builtin arm processor has no power to transcode the media to plex software the subtitles must be also burned to the media file because it not supports the srt link due to transcode limitation

It is a device to use to store and map drives to get remote access to from your cellphone or other pc and even setup an ftp server

If you store video and music you can use plex or kodi to remotely access your files and play cartoons or whatever you want directly from storage

Most tvs will find it as a upnp device and allow you to scan for files directly
