Initially id used a small capacity ssd but the speed couldnt be utilized fully held back by the older sata 1 interface in the ps3

Hybrid drives were a bit of a fad in gaming for a short while but eventually lost out when cheaper ssds became available

This drive though unused was made in 2014 and i believe seagate overproduced them at the time and have been releasing them onto the market in small batches at gradually reducing prices ever since
