This disk is quiet and spins up quite quickly. It's also deadly quiet which is brilliant. They are fast, quiet, and dont get too hot.
Seagate nas drives are cheaper and when registered to seagate website you have 3 years warranty. Year warranty is what you should expect and seagate seems to deliver.
Theoretically sata iii is the faster interface favoured when installing an ssd. This drive is a 4tb sata 3 disk spinning at 5900 rpm.
Cons
Both my drives emit a buzzing noise when they idle. I wish disks had a countdown timer which would alert of these predictable failures, almost like when a mobile phone or a cpu starts to get slower for a day to day use.

A pair of these are great in my synology nas, very quiet and cool running
Bought two of these to install in a qnap nas.
A 4tb nas drive that is purpose made with error correction is something else.

I bought this drive 3 months ago from appods fulfilled by amazon and its been used 247 in a dlna wired and wireless streaming nas environment

After the bad experiences with the other two drives i thought let me have one more go with an older model seagate before trying a western digital red which reviews indicate has reliability problems

Sitting less than 1m away you can barely hear the seagate and i have ears like a bat literally and figuratively speaking

In fact sitting in the same place less than a metre away i cant actually hear the seagate at all because the noise of the fan on the nas drowns it out

It might be the older firmware the newer st2000vn001 was far noisier but if you want a drive that wont make a din this seagate should be on your short list
