Pros

The port on the drive itself is a usb 3 micro b connector. To attempt to make up for this, the cable comes with an adapter. For my android phone (with usb-c port), i have to use the seagate android app to access the drive, but it works smoothly.

The drive has a cloth panel on one side with a little green cloth ribbon tab (for no good reason) i love the cloth texture on the top. Since we've been rving more lately, it's great for that too. Probably more durable and reliable than either of those... Read More

As noted in other reviews it worked right out of the pkg on my macbook pro w/o any formatting.

Competitiveness

Great price for 1tb and a good solution compared to the many, many flashdrives of every high-rated brand under the sun that has failed.

It wasn't hard to set up with my macbookpro.

I do not use it for automated backup and i use a miscrosoft surface book 2.

I had a dell and then a sony pc, and those lasted about five years.
