Comes with a usb 3. Adapter and a usb c adapter. Works like a normal external hard drive without all the bells and whistles and syncing nonsense. Only thing i don't like is that i haven't figured out how to fully disable the locking feature.

For the past 2 months it keeps crashing. It seems like it doesn't stay powered on long enough through the loading process and just stops responding. Bad hardware isssue.

The adapters are loose where the usb a connecter plugs in. The usb plug doesn't fir securely into your usb c device.

As noted in other reviews it worked right out of the pkg on my macbook pro w/o any formatting.

Competitiveness

Great price for 1tb and a good solution compared to the many, many flashdrives of every high-rated brand under the sun that has failed.

The seagate 2tb external hard drive comes with its own backup / restore software.

I do not use it for automated backup and i use a miscrosoft surface book 2.

It wasn't hard to set up with my macbookpro.
