Pros & Cons
Pros
The sennheiser e906 is the most accurate microphone i have ever used to mic my guitar cabinet. Works great on my vintage fender amp. If you are doing home recording of guitar cabs this should probably be in your arsenal of mics for shure.
Big improvement over the 609. Referenced to the 57s, the pattern is much tighter with the 906. Costs a lot more then the 57, but it's money well spent. It's hard to beat 9 series sennheiser mics.
The mic is much rounder and fuller sounding. The noise rejection from the opposite side is fantastic for snares. Between that, and the small footprint it has, this mic makes for a great option in any drum kit. It's whisper quiet with most ambient/surr... Read More
Low profile, side address design makes the e906 easy to use and it doesn't get woofy even if you hang it over a cabinet right against the grill. The design allows the user to simply drape the mic over the top of the cabinet, eliminating the need for a... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Amazing sound and very utilitarian for the sound engineer.
Sturdy well built mic, captures your amp sound and kind of ignores everything else around, paired it with a mogami cable and us... Read More
I let it dangle about a quarter inch away from the grill cloth and centered directly in front of the speaker cap (v30 16 ohm).
The e609 is scooped really wide in the low mids, and heavily notched in about ten more frequency bends from the mids through the highs.
Price
Great price and bang for the buck!
Great value for a good crisp microphone.
Questioned whether this was a counterfeit due to the low price, but it's actually a legit sennheiser e906!
Grab a used one for half the price.
Shipping
It arrived in two days and was in perfect condition.
The shipping was quick and you can’t really tell that this was a refurbished product.
Competitiveness
I thought my e609 sounded good but side by side comparisons the e906 is much richer and well worth the additional cost.
I like it better than the shure sm57 on snare.
As for the product itself, i feel like the price is a bit high compared to the sm57 which is very close in sound quality compar... Read More
Compare to sm57 in price, and perhaps a bit crisper.

The important part is that the e906 sounds just like my amp sounds at least from about 4 feet away and about 3 feet below my ear level
