Pros & Cons
Pros
Sennheiser earpads are a great replacement for worn headphones. Getting the headband pad on takes a great deal of patience. The headband actually stretches a bit and with patience you can get the grippy hook strips to grab each other and line-up well.... Read More
These pads look different than the original ones on my 280's but they fit perfectly. Hd280 are fantastic again!
They're worth it if you have manual dexterity and patience. There really is a major audible difference. They appear to be slightly less bulky.
The pads are comfy. They had been de-padded for a couple of years at least, sitting at my recording desk. Hopefully that's a sign they'll stay securely attached.
Be sure to stretch the material both horizontally and vertically (mostly horizontally though), you almost want it looking a little loose in appearance before trying. There is a technique to it and one has to be careful not damaging the plastic retaini... Read More
Cons
Sennheiser's ear pads are not the same quality as the originals which came with the headphones. They are much stiffer and not as deep. As a result, i find the earphones much less comfortable. The pad comes with the headphone, not with the earphone.
Highlights
Quality
The products brought sound quality and comfort back and were easy to apply.
These replacements are as nice and comfortable as the factory ones on my headphones, so i am very satisfied with the quality.
I've had 3 or 4 pairs of these headphones over the years and got frustrated when the pads would disintegrate after a few years.
I’ve had my sennheiser 280 pros since about 2016, and they have been with me through thick and thin.
Price
I purchased the oem replacement pads at $35 and have no regrets.
Even with the cost of these manufacturer replacements, i saved half the price.
Cost of a new headset will be about 90 dollars or more if i upgrade.
Couple bucks more than knockoffs, but worth it.
Packaging/appearance
The pads (3) came in a little plastic bag - no instructions.
Competitiveness
As others have indicated, you need to stretch the ear pieces, and a bit further than you'd expect.

The material is quite stretchy so you just have to concentrate and slowly stretch as you clip the plastic ends together
