Pros & Cons
Pros
The rme unit is in the top 3, or arguably is the best, mastering quality dac and by far the best headphone amp that money can buy. Rme interface has an excellent adc/dac configuration, with a very clean sound at the headphone jack. There's an audio pl... Read More
The design is aesthetically high quality, and also sturdy in design. After burn-in, they are wonderful. Build is tremendous for price. No brainer, buy them.
The ear pads are velour and can get a little itchy after awhile if there is any complaint but not a big one. They are very nicely adjustable to fit any head size.
Most if not all the parts are user replaceable, so these headphones should last virtually forever. They come with a very long cord, 1/4” to 1/8” adapter, and a nice box. It's readily available and doesn't take up storage space.
The sound is very clean with no distortion. The ath-r70x felt a little more cold/sterile. But it's not as bad as they make it sound.
Cons
The build is remarkably cheap with plastic more appropriate to $100-200 cans. At $200 the sony mdr-x10 is far better.
Overall sound signature is a bit too laid-back, on the dark (warm) side of neutral, a tad sluggish and thick sounding. Midrange is smooth (somewhat overly smooth like it was sanded down) and moderately well detailed. Three-dimensional realism of solo ... Read More
Highlights
Quality
Great quality and performs amazing while gaming.
Great sound stage, extremely detailed no harmonic distortion.
I also own the almost-identical hd6xx headphones for three years, and they show no sign of the any stitching or fabric coming loose.
All of the other headphones i plug in suffer this loss of volume.
Price
Absolutely worth every penny to save up for them.
Got these babies on sale and honestly i can’t complain.
I snapped these up on sale for $287.
I found them on sale for $350 (reg.
Shipping
I received a pair of these for christmas, by request.
Packaging/appearance
I can say my ears were pleasantly surprised out the gate with outkast -“stankonia” on vinyl.
It was previous opened and the cord was loose and not twist tied and the headphones were actually out of the inside packaging.
I got these open box, they arrived in the original packaging and looked like new.
Beautiful but felt like my head was getting crushedbummed
Competitiveness
I use them in guitar amps, home receiver, jds headphone amp, and zune.
I use these to play call of duty, fortnite and other fps games.
My intention: try them out and if they don't sound better than my skullcandy, sony's, bose, and beats, then i will return them.
I own the hd 600 and swore i wouldn’t buy another set of headphones.
