It is being sold alongside the improved hd800s with only a £100 price difference and if you take all the reviews at face value the new model is vastly better
This is still a fair chunk of change for a headphone which seems to get either glowing praise or criticism for the 6khz treble peak especially as the new hd800s seems to have resolved this issue
I however could not justify £1200 for the hd800s and decided to take advantage of the number of sh versions of the originals which meant that deals started appearing on new pairs at big discounts and managed to source mine brand new from an official dealer for £750
