Pros

Panasonic120k and this earphone are an excellent value. These are my first pair of nicer headphones. They are more natural and uncolored than any other pair of earbuds i have ever used. Great ear buds at this price point.

The headphones come in a plastic bag stapled to a cardboard top. The cord is designed for behind ear placement, with a small cinch for a keeping the wires close to your neck. The headphones have a standard small plug/jack.

They are exactly what i unpretentious quality. They are fantastic. Great performance. These are no exception.

You get so much more than what you pay for. Out of control headphone industry has made products like this a rarity.

Not worth the money. Shocked that they would send such a * product out under their label. Not a great earbud or headphone.

+ the sound quality is good and the balancing is absolutely fantastic!

These are great - they sound excellent and they are surprisingly durable.

Highs are crisp, mids are full and wide, and base is not that irritating ghetto teen thumping type of nonsense.

Upon first listen, the ie 4s produced shrill highs that almost made them unlistenable.

00 retail, most of my experience was (over the ears) headphones from cheap $15.

You'll have all your private monitoring needs covered for $75 or less!

Packaging/appearance

The sennheiser ie4 earphones arrived in minimal packaging, plastic bag with cardboard stapled over, extra set small and large ear inserts.

I fold up the wire as it came in the package and tuck the headphones away in an altoids tin.

The first thing one notices is that the packaging is incredibly basic.

That's fine with me; i want to pay for earphones, not excess packaging.

Competitiveness

So, i can not do a side-by-side comparison, but i am very pleased with the sennheiser ie 4 earphones.

They are almost identical to another pair of sennheiser ear buds i bought in 2008 and eventually gave to my daughter.

Ie4 has mind blowing low and high music quality for the paid money and same time panasonic120k delivered more than paid money.
