Pros & Cons
Pros
Makes for an easy to set up and easy to manuever rig. If he/she is good and know what they are doing they will capture the ambience on the scene. Design is great, compact and cute.
Mke makes a surprisingly nice voiceover mic in a pinch (mount on a tripod top tripod). However, it's not a substitute for a shotgun mic and the wide cardioid pattern takes in considerable ambient sound. The main idea and the only thing that you need t... Read More
Front cable jack placement works well. One critique is that the dead cat suffers from hair loss and needs to take propecia.
Using this mic primarily with a sony a6400. My main video device is a nikon dslr. When connected to my zoom h4n pro on phantom power the capabilities of this microphone really shine.
The mke 600 is still the better microphone for voiceover despite the long and storied history of the 416. The battery option on the 600 also means that i can use it as a travel microphone or for quick auditions and reads away from the studio. Is this ... Read More
Cons
Results range from poor to unusable. The build is fine but audio is worse than other cheaper mics i own at half the cost.
Highlights
Quality
The audio quality is crystal clear, capturing every detail with minimal background noise.
Sturdy build and great for outdoor shoots.
Besides endless graphics, audio tracks and html pages, that meant shooting dozens of videos demonstrating music techniques.
My omnidirectional tascam stereo mic sounded good tonally, but picked up too much noise from the street.
Price
Before i was using a $100 mic that had a lot of noise.
Really wanted to keep it but unfortunately the price is a little too high for what i was looking for.
If you can afford the extra few bucks, don't settle for a cheaper knockoff (or lesser sennheiser model).
Competitiveness
It's design helps it block out wind noise better than most of the mics in this price range.
Overall, the sennheiser mke 200 is a great choice for those looking to improve the audio quality of their videos without breaking the bank.
The self noise is very low, and the reliability of sennheiser is second to none (they are the sister company of neumann).
I honestly can't hear much difference between the mke 600 and it's much more expensive big brother, the mkh 416.

The best part about this mic is that theres no ugly shock mount

The cylindrical part of the mic is actually a blimp and the shock mount is inside of there
