To set the code push the red button on the bottomback of the lid type in the 7 digits that you want to use as the code

My only reason for rating this 4 instead of 5 stars is that several times ive had to reenter my pin because the key pad didnt take a number even though it beeped or it just wouldnt allow me to unlock it after a successful enter light turns green

Once i had to completely reset the system as it wouldnt take my code no matter how many times i entered it
