Pros & Cons
Pros
Fits a full-size 9mm handgun (cz-75b) with room for extra mags. My beretta 92fs is large with a 5” barrel and my taurus pt1911 is even longer with the muzzle break adding at least another inch if not more. It can be bolted down as well.
It seems more sturdy and heavyweight than i was expecting. It is a great light security box to keep items that you don’t want small hands to get too or snooping guests. Sentry safe has my business for life!
Opens quickly and quietly. The piston opened the lid handily. The strut is gas powered, and a lot of that pressure builds as you close it.
Cons
"what ruined it for me is the strut that lifts the door of the safe" there are reviews elsewhere that complain of this same flaw. Company has since acknowledged the design flaw in the strut.
You have to really pry your fingers on the edges to get it to lift. At this point, the fingerprint reader successfully unlocks the lid, but the lid doesn't move. Defective lock then after being locked for several months, would not open.
Sentry safe has rust building up in the corners under the foam padding. Leads me to believe that the amazon sold safes are either refurbished or not stored in quality environments. Don't like how a couple of speed loaders could not be confidently lock... Read More

The first safe i purchased didn't last 5 month.
Price
But for what we need, it was a good price, good size, and good option.
Shipping
The amazon delivery person delivered the safe during a rain storm and left the box six feet from my covered porch.
Subsequently the box containing the safe sat in the rain for three hours until i arrived home and was disintegrated.
Sentry safe stepped up and shipped me an updated spring.
Total disregard for service by the delivery person.
Packaging/appearance
Since this was the actual safe box the safe also got wet but luckily it was surrounded by a styrofoam frame that partially protected it.
Competitiveness
I’ll be replacing it with a different brand.
