Pros

The keypad is the only downside i see. It saves battery life. The only thing i wish i would have done difderent is purchase the model with the fingerprint scanner. Allow very fast access and obviously do not drain batteries like biometrics and others ... Read More

Small enough to hold a mid sized firearm and a few small extras. Fits one * and two mags comfortably. My beretta 92fs is large with a 5” barrel and my taurus pt1911 is even longer with the muzzle break adding at least another inch if not more.

It seems more sturdy and heavyweight than i was expecting. Solid and heavier than expected. It feels durable and keeps items needing to be locked away appropriately locked away from children.

It opens without much noise. The strut is gas powered, and a lot of that pressure builds as you close it. The lid pops up quickly but doesn't make any big noises.

I love that this thing lights up. I like how you can touch a button and they light up in a gentle blue for night vision.

Cons

The top lid opens a fraction of an inch and then binds when the safe is unlocked. It appears the locking tab that swings into the corresponding slot is bent downwards.

Sentry safe has rust building up in the corners under the foam padding. The padding inside the safe is also too sparse and hard to want to place any weapon i value inside. This safe goes through batteries quickly.

Batteries have a ridiculously short life span, weeks, not months. Unless you are willing to replace the 4 aa batteries once a month, then this thing is worthless. Tried buying the best batteries available and still no good.

The first safe i purchased didn't last 5 month.

But for what we need, it was a good price, good size, and good option.

I think it works well for what it is, and it's cost.

Shipping

The amazon delivery person delivered the safe during a rain storm and left the box six feet from my covered porch.

Subsequently the box containing the safe sat in the rain for three hours until i arrived home and was disintegrated.

Sentry safe stepped up and shipped me an updated spring.

Total disregard for service by the delivery person.

Packaging/appearance

Since this was the actual safe box the safe also got wet but luckily it was surrounded by a styrofoam frame that partially protected it.

Competitiveness

I’ll be replacing it with a different brand.
