However the keypad buttons have a very noticeable lag from when you press them to when the press registers

I did some drills to see how id open it when under pressure and the lag throws my timing off constantly misentering the combo

You have to hit a key to turn the pad on first then enter each key press deliberately with maybe half a second pause between each

And if you fail the attempt you have to wait a couple seconds for the red light to clear and the buttons to reset

The keys ought to be very clear crisp and responsive for a gun safe to be used in emergencies

So great little safe but id recommend leaving it unlocked while youre home so you dont screw up opening when you really need it
