Author repeats and repeats to extend the length of the book. New characters are often added to keep it interesting. Ridmark and calliede are a powerful couple very much in love but others keep challenging their abilities.

Even the evil characters were very interesting and well developed.
An excellent story that is well written and holds your interest - least ways it held mine.
The battle scenes were well done, lengthy, but not too long (in many novel i've read the battle scenes have been much too long).

But again i was impressed with the action sequences and how the author continues to pull off epic fantasy without it getting ridiculous
