Noise level measured using an accurate, recently-calibrated sound level meter. Dba at 30 (arm's length) when just idling on a carpeted floor after being cleaned. Yes, but all vacuums and dust busters are loud.

A noisier hair dryer's use is less odious and is understood to be more pleasant as necessary grooming. This one has more power since it plugs in and does the job well.

Happy consumers are repeat consumers and i am not one of them. Don't even entertain the idea of purchasing this vac. It needs to be taken off the market. Would not recommend to anyone.

Shark customer service is atrocious. Their minuscule weight is still too heavy for the mighty shark.

It feels like i am trying to vacuum the stairs with a baby elephant or a well endowed midget. Also another negative factor to the practicality of this vacuum is that it auto-shuts off after it overheats. The vacuum overheats and shuts off mid-use.

The cord does not even reach the top of a regular flight of stairs. The suction is weak and it overheats after five minutes of use. It's so noisy you need hearing protection to use it.
