It gets its spin from the suction power, and you'd think it'd never work well, but it really actually does! Very easy to manoeuvre and get around corners. Light and easy to maneuver and has great suction.
One of the reasons it works so well, aside from its awesome power, is because the bristles are motorized! All the plastic is all made from good solid materials. The only thing i dislike is the lack of a joint on the smaller brush attachment.
I have a german shepard and a cat who both shed non stop. It is fairly quiet, has great suction, picked up everything quickly and i was shocked at how much dog hair it grabbed.
Our upstairs carpet is a bit thinner, and with that it is much easier to use. Where it becomes hard to move is on our living plushy carpet. Works great on the vinyl engineered flooring too.
Cons
This vacuum has a ton of suction but it doesn't pick up well. Extension wand latches in with a flimsy tab attached to a spring. Design of the cord is poor and it gets caught under the vaccum.
Hard to manuever, heavy, and awkward. The only good thing i can say about it is, it is lightweight and maneuvers well.

Bought the v ten monster- it lasts 10mins and takes hours to charge, but this shark, plug it in and go.
Price
Love it nice and good for the money.
Totally shocked a vaccum could be this good for this price.
It cost almost the same as i paid for this one.
It is a good vacuum cleaner for the price you pay.

New replacement parts where expedited quickly with great resolve.
Packaging/appearance
The canister was easy to remove and empty.
Came broken, called the company customer service about the issue.
Competitiveness
The unit works better than some brands that sell for thousands of $$, to find this at the price point it's at was a dream!
They aren't even in the same category as far as i'm concerned.
I will never use another brand as long as shark maintains their quality.

The compartment really is xlarge so i can vacuum a lot without it getting full
