Cons
The vacuum has a faulty water tank sensor that literally bricks the unit when it inevitably fails. It turns the entire vacuum into a worthless multi hundred dollar paperweight.
This product falls short of expectations. Can't be bent enough to get under a sofa. I'm pretty sick of buying stuff that ends up being garbage in under a year.
I was emailed a shipping label to bring to fedex for the return. I removed roller cover, removed roller and replaced. Not sure if there is a design flaw, go online and lots of people having this same issue.
The motor shuts off after about 30 seconds. Had it for less than 4 months, it's had 2 separate malfunctioning parts. After 3 months of weekly use it no longer works.
This hydrovac barely cleans the floor of dirt. Don't use on carpeted areas at all. Cleaning of my lvp floors is spotty at best.

You can fix it by purchasing replacement parts but then it becomes wasteful and costly.
It is honestly a costly solution but i think it will be worth every penny's worth !
But at the cost of multiple water tank fills and going over lots of areas over and over again to get them fully clean.
Competitiveness
I actually picked this model because it was a consumer reports top pick as well.
But for now, it’s a toss up between bissell and shark
I think bissell may clean a bit better, but when you’re done you have to take it apart and rinse out .
