Pros

This thing belongs in the smithsonian to celebrate the most brilliantly designed spinning reel ever to be wrought by the hands of humans. It's so good someone stole it out of my garage, so i had to get another one.

These newer ones are tanks and very very smooth. They are very durable and we have been using them for a long time. The rear to front drag transition is really a great feature.

Love the baitrunner. Worked like a champ. Terrific reel. This reel rocks.

Baitrunner feature is great, leave the line open and listen for the bite. Works great for live bait fishing for medium size striper and cobia in the chesapeake bay. No complaints about these reels at all after many hours of fishing.

Added two shim washers right off the bat to even out the line lay. Loaded with 30# braid for bait and can use with a string of gold hooks.

Cons

Getting wrong product. Ordered 8000d but instead got 6000d.

Bought the shimano bait runner 6000d with ugly stick 12 foot 2 pcs rod and kast king 30# braided line last year .

Very nice for the price works great

Best value for your money of all secondary drag reels.

The reel was most expensive $180 but fantastic .

You pay a bit more, but if you take decent care of these, they last forever!

I always have been and will never buy any other brands other than shimano baitrunner fishing reels.

I have 6 other shipman baitrunner reels that i love to fish live bait with, no other reels are better.
