Pros

Buy these for comfort and functionality. Put these on rad rover electric bike. My only gripe is that i wish i had known about these sooner.

The platform allows me to quickly power my way from a standstill at a stoplight or stop sign without having to worry about positing or clipping in. Love the quality of the studded side and the flexibility to hop on and off the bike.

Love these pedals. Love this pedal. Torque spec right on the cylinder, nice.

The springs are strong, and the additional (longer) pins make for a stellar flat pedal. If you want a two sided pedal these are it. I have ee wide feet and the pedal felt great!

Easy to clip into even as a beginner rider. Clip side works perfectly, and i was able to adjust it to my preferred tightness. Easy to clip in with spd shoes or to use the non-spd side for single track areas.

The only reason i am docking a star is that they are a bit overpriced, even with the deal i got on amazon.

Worth the money on an important bike part, recommend.

Because of the price, initially, i was reluctant to buy these.

Competitiveness

Shimano xt is heavier than xtr but more maintenance free than the xtr.

I looked at pretty much all the others including the shimano a530, pd-m324, pd-m545, pd-m424, nashbar soho, and the vp components vp-r62.
