Pros & Cons
Pros
Bike runs smoother than when it was brand new. Also, no skipping like my old one after three years.
Chainrings on the are removable and not riveted. The chainrings are also bolted instead of riveted. The original chainring is 48t steel and the new chain ring is 40t aluminum alloy.
This crank is beefy and beautiful. The crankarms are solid a bit burly, and should withstand anything my normal legs can exert.
Used this to replace a fc-ct90 altus, shimano still recalls. Works okay on my mtb with a 127. Fd nearly at maximum limit. Shimano alivio is higher end mtb groupset than shimano acera.
Would definitely recommend this product to someone else looking to fix up thier old bike or just replacing parts. My bike has square taper and worked well. No wiggle or signs of bad wearing on the pedal threads so far.
Cons
Crank arms and chainrings bend and break extremely easy. I now have to take it to the shop, to have them forcibly removed. The aluminum threads that the pedals bolted into stripped almost every thread out of it.
Highlights
Quality
Great crankset upgrade for my 2 to 1 conversion
After install i was pleasantly surprised to the improvement and smoothness of the chain on the chainring.
The wheel was bent so badly that i was barely able to limp it home with the v-brakes released.
If i had gone with the 22-32-42 crankset, that would have dropped 6 teeth from my original drive train and running an 11-28 cas... Read More

That got quite expensive so i settled on this crank set which has a nice tooth range for my style of riding.
In 2021, it came out of the shed again as i was going to junk it due to the cost of a wheel straightening, or a new wheel, bein... Read More
Inexpensive part did the job for an inexpensive bike.
Shipping
Fast shipping got it in 2 or 3 days seller shipped it the next business day.
Packaging/appearance
Watch a video if you don't know how and i recommend phil wood grease for packing the bearings.
Competitiveness
It operates even better than it did brand new!
It is 100% better than both the sunlite set and the original equipment on the bike.
I bought the sunlite 44t crankset and found it was incomplete as it didn't have the matching crank arm.
Because the bike was still like new with a chrome moly frame and had some comparable components to new bikes in the $500 and up... Read More
