This reel punches so far above its weight its rediculous. I'm a daiwa man so this is a loop for me lol. The nicest reel i own is the shimano casitis.
It is the smoothest reel i have except for the curado ks. Cast very smooth. Very smooth retrieving.
Light and durable. Performance wise matches my curados, curados just look and feel like a better product to justify the price tag. In terms of actual fishing capabilities, you can't really beat the slx.
You are going to have to learn how to manage your spool speed with your thumb regardless. The anti-backlash is simple and effective.
Cons
I'm very dissatisfied, now it's on me to send it back and pay the shipping for warranty. Haven't cut it yet.

I have a curado i, with the external tuning and that is so much easier to adjust than having to open the frame to adjust.

This reel punches so far above its weight its rediculous.
Running it with powerpro 30lb braid and it casts pretty good distance.
