Handle is nice and comfy. Nice size knobs that are easy to grab on to. Best of all no back lashes. Smooth action and dc breaking is definite upgrade from older mag brake.

Dc technology is unmatched. The dc technology helps to avoid birds nests and overruns. It works great, but it can certainly birds nest.

Cons

The 2020 daiwa tatula sv is by the better reel for just $10 more. The slx xt without the dc braking is far better. There are only 4 brake settings on the dc while the slx has 4 centrifugal brakes and magnetic brakes with setting 1 -6.

Great product, lightweight, digital breaking helps learning curve on bait casters with the need of small fine tuning only.

In the picture 2 cast into the fishing day and boom landed this beautiful hog with the shimano slx dc.

Competitiveness

I have other baitcast reels and this is now my go to reel.

I've been fishing shimano products for most of my life (62).

Mine is spooled with 15lb braid and a 50lb braid backer and on setting 2 it casts perfectly each time.

I go from 1/4oz baits to 1/2oz and never mess with anything.
