Pros

Shimano™ sm-sh56™ set are just the ones i use. Excellent, perform well. Well made and durable. Arrived well packaged and on time.

They are ideal for absolute beginners, or for cyclists gaining their first experience of using cleats. These multi release cleats are the perfect middle ground for me to use while riding offroad gravel or mtb.

Easy to fit and clips in to the pedal easily. Familiar and easy to clip and unclip from the pedals. Practice clipping and unclipping until you are confident.

This type of cleat is not such a stable fit as other types and there is some lateral foot movement but that is due to the type of cleat and they are fine for spinning

I’ve only ever used traditional spd’s which stands for shimano™ pedalling dynamics or ‘spuds’ as you’ll hear them referred to in many cycling clubs either coupled to small platform traditional spd’s reversible wide spdflat pedals on my old mountain bike or my preferred spd pda520™ pedals which offer a wider surface to push against
