I havnt taken it fishing yet but in the front yard i gave a couple casts useing just a snap swivle and a pop top from a soda can and it flew about 25 feet

The zebco came with line the shimano did not both reels were mounted on 5’6” berkley rods

The shimano became slightly harder to retrieve and started to make a groaning noise

It still performed well casting but retrieval was as though something was slowing it down not smooth as before

The zebco would cast ok but sometimes when i would close the bail and reel in it would not close it and i would have to manually close it
