It's just as smooth as my stella. I use daiwa bg's mostly but these are smoother but twice the cost.

Cons

Plastic body, flimsy feeling reel. But continued with caution and got the fish. Since than it is not the same at all, has a cranking noise.

Great reel just dissatisfied with the lack of anti reverse on hg 1000 model especially for the price.

If you can get an fk noticeably cheaper go with the fk .

It's just as smooth as my stella at a 4th of the cost.

There may be other great reels out there but you really can't beat a stradic for performance at the price.

It performs in a manner similar to a shimano stella.
