Pros

The design is very intuitive, and i'm emptying the entire water bin a couple times per day so i know it's working. Hooked the hose out the back as shown. The pump pumps as it is supposed to.

We love how it dries the air without having to crank the ac down too low. Size, weight and maneuverability are nice. It is a bit noisier than my previous units, but that's not so important for workshop/basement use.

It works great so far and the pump function appears to work properly. It works fine and has been perfectly reliable. It's definitely the best dehumidifier that i've ever had.

Cons

Company said it was unfixable and offered me 10% off a new one. Tried to contact manufacturer for 1 year warranty service via email and their website and got no response. Also tried to contact customer service and never got a reply back. Ups retun is ... Read More

The fan and compressor run continuously, using electricity and making noise but not removing moisture from the air. Unit has a defrost function but not working. Sometimes the water on the radiator freezes and the unit stops working.

Don't waste your time or money on this shoddy product. This is just shady.

Shinco dehumidifier is louder and less energy efficient than the honeywell and the panasonic i used to have. I have to spend 5 minutes 2 times a day emptying it. Best to use your money on a well named brand like honeywell with better customer service.... Read More

Overall great find especially for the price.

Shipping

As soon as i received the shinco dehumidifier i plugged it in and it was full in about 30 minutes!

(i paid the delivery man to put it in my basement and hook it up – it seemed to work just fine after he left.

Packaging/appearance

Item was boxed in a good container and arrived undamaged.

Since i no longer have the original packaging, it's challenging for me to return it as they offered.

Competitiveness

So far it's the best i had even better than my expensive fredericks.

Had a similar unit different brand bought here 6 months ago but no longer on sale so went with this one.

I replaced a ge dehumidifier of the same capacity with the shinco.
