Highlights
Quality
Super easy to mount and align, sounds great and has only been getting better through break-in.
Installation was straight forward, and the quality of the sound is outstanding.

I dug out my turntable and albums after they sat in my closet for 34 years.
Price
Best bang for the buck cartridge out there.
My experience seems to be in line with the general consensus, which is that for $100 this is an excellent choice.
You won't believe the sound of this cartridge for the price you paid.
Overall, this does the job, but at $200 it's really not the endgame product that i was looking for.
Shipping
I received it as promised and installed it on my dual 704 turntable.
Finally, the seller of this item delivered it 3 days earlier than promised.
Packaging/appearance
It comes in a premium-looking aluminum box with screws, nuts, tiny phillips screwdriver, and a needle brush.
You will actually keep this case, it's not a piece of packaging you will throw out in the trash.
I will say that the m97xe packaging is first rate and exhudes quality (probably to influence the buyer's perceptions).
I just wonder how much might have been cut off the price had shure not packaged it in the very handsome aluminum box .
Competitiveness
" so i bought this cartridge which is the nearest they have these days to the v15's of old.
As others have stated the richness and depth of sound on a lp versus a cd there is no comparison.
To make sure that it wasn't my speakers, i compared my records to flac rips of the same music.

The old cartneedle had a ton of sibilance and tracking issues and this was recommended to replace it

However after listening to the records a lot more i cant help but feel let down by the overall quality of the sound

There is still a noticeable amount of sibilance in tracks with lots of high end and the low end can sound somewhat muddy

First it sounds almost indistinguishable from my shure v15vmr and second the shure m97xe typically makes my records sound richer than the sacds i own of same music
