Pros & Cons
Pros
A+ product and seller. It's a must product, if you're going to deliver without the distractions. Second patch cord will also be required.
Outstanding quality microphone for the pulpit and altar of our church. I have the microphone mounted on a podium using the shock mount. The included shock mount eliminates almost all podium bumps, rumbles and noises.
Shure mx412/s is an excellent microphone. The mx418 mic is awesome. Also sound transfer from the podium to the mic was always a problem before.
Highlights
Quality
Sound quality is excellent and it was the perfect solution for our problem.
The base is heavy enough to hold it in place and the quality of the materials is very good.
Not much hiss with the s's either.

Range is very good both to the sides and when the speaker steps back from the pulpit itself.
Competitiveness
Compared to 87a ( stage vocal mic ) this one is much more sensitive and has much better bass and crisper top.
Way better than the cheaper ones that we were using.

Compared to c414 studio recording mic it has approximately equal voicing and sensitivity but is not as detailed not even close

With the 418 when you speak into it it sounds good but if you try to record room background noise its all a mush while with the c414 if you record background noise you can make out all the individual noises separately this means that this mic does not have a lot of dynamic range limited by self noise

The speech it records is very crisp it just doesnt have that depth or airiness that a large diaphragm recording mic like c414 has but for teleconferencing that doesnt matter
