Pros & Cons
Pros
Set up the mixer correctly takes a few minutes. Using the aux send and aux return to my lexicon mx200 for vocal effects changes how the mic reacts every change of vocal effects. For home karaoke, it is outstanding.
Cons
Sm58 is muddy, i. E. It is way too muddy. The on off switch is broken. Maybe this is just not a good product to use on windows (i have vista 64-bit), or maybe this device was just defective.
Highlights
Quality
It is well made, very sturdy and great for vocals.
Feels solid and well made with nice weight.
Dull background noises like air conditioning on low are not noticeable in recordings.

Price
Best microphone in its price range by miles.
If you can afford it, this is the microphone for you.
For an inexpensive mic it's hard to find one that functions and is reliable as a shure.
Competitiveness
I have bought the pga48 for podcasting guests and in comparison, the sm58 is much warmer.
In comparison to my shure sm48s microphone, which is a great microphone, especially for the price, the sm58 has a warmer sound.
It also didn't require as much gain to reach the same volume as the sm48s.
