Pros & Cons
Pros
Shure srh840 headphones are an excellent choice for music producers, audio engineers, and anyone who values high-quality audio. The closed-back design provides excellent noise isolation, making them ideal for use in noisy environments or for recording... Read More
The shure srh840 headphones sound great, are well constructed and are very comfortable. The ear cups are large and comfortable, and the headband is adjustable, making them suitable for extended listening sessions. The answer is a resounding yes! One o... Read More
The srh840 headphones come with a 1/8 trs to 1/4 trs screw on adapter. The headphones also come with two detachable cables, one coiled and one straight. The removable audio cable is a great feature.
Cons
They sound good but construction is frustratingly poor. No sound in right side after gentle use for 2 weeks. If you were a fan of the gen 1 you will be disappointed.
Highlights
Quality
The shure srh840 headphones sound great, are well constructed and are very comfortable!
First of all, the build quality of these headphones is excellent.
Furthermore, the flimsy non-braided cable seems like a slap in the face since even my cheaper srh440s came with a braided one.
A couple of years in, i accidentally dropped my phone while these were plugged in, and it bent the plug, causing sound to only ... Read More
Price
I got them for $80 such a steal!
Feel confident in purchasing these headphones and know your get more than $150 pair.
Too bad i had to send it back to amazon, since i got a good price on these when they were on sale for $119.
A little pricey but it works fine.
Packaging/appearance
Thus far i am pleased with the quality of the product, the sound, packaging, etc.
Out of the box, they’re pretty laid back and reserved if that makes any sense.
They come with a travel bag, an extra set of ear covers, and a 1/8" trs to 1/4" trs screw on adapter.
Competitiveness
Obviously, i haven’t compared it to many other hq over-ear headphones, but i love these!
The shure srh840 is the best bang on the market and they will last you for many years.
I'm glad i purchased these instead of a some cheaper no name brand pair of headphones.
The sound is noticeably better then the sony 7506 but not by much -- the sony is close for much less money.
