The barbed end goes right through to the other side where the threading exist. Unable to be used on my danner mag submersible pump. The 1/2” size of the fitting end is for the outside diameter of the hose, not the inside diameter.

I tried connecting a hose to the output of my shurflo pump using a different connector and could not get it to stop leaking
